Easy Integration Through Open Architectures
Soph-Ware's core technology rests on international standards for storing, retrieving, and delivering content (text, pictures, sound). The company's founders and staff are recognized experts in Extensible Markup Language (XML). This has been a major factor in Soph-Ware's track record for run-anywhere software and play-anywhere media. That expertise has attracted two Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contracts, each totaling nearly a million dollars. Our first SBIR enabled the Department of Energy to deliver diverse educational multimedia across disparate platforms. Our most recent SBIR was awarded by the Air Force Research Laboratory (Rome, New York) to develop an XML-based security system.
In addition, Soph-Ware's long history and expertise in open information standards (including XML) caught the attention of a Fairfax Virginia contractor to the Defense Information Security Agency (DISA). In that relationship Soph-Ware was a services provider to this beltway firm to support the proposed Global Information Grid (GIG) for the Department of Defense.
