They include supplements for students and instructors that support best-selling textbooks and have become as important to the publishers' business as the textbooks themselves.

Interactive Media for Higher Education

With multimedia services that include professional studio facilities and artists, Soph-Ware develops interactive desktop laboratories for Science, comprehensive tutorials for Business and Economics, and provides extensive resources for the instructor (test generators, media presentation tools, course outlines, and much more).

Multimedia Documentation and Project Reporting

The Publications Group likewise supports Soph-Ware’s own information security development by providing project reports and documentation to the customer as multimedia productions. Security product customers then reuse these “smart documents” for their own internal briefings, promotions, and customer presentations.

XML Technologies

Soph-Ware’s technical edge—guaranteed “play-anywhere” portability—is made possible by the company’s mature application of XML technologies. Automated workflow converts “raw” graphics metadata—information about thousands of graphics for a particular publisher’s title—from a database into XML metadata. Soph-Ware’s presentation engines “consume” this metadata in order to customize the user’s experience.
